The Lord led Rev. Leslie G. Funk and Mrs. B-Etta Funk to Metro Manila from Tacloban City, Leyte, to seek better medical attention for their failing health in the early part of 1982. They rented a home at #7 Cesar Lorenzo St., B.F. Homes, Executive Village, Parañaque, M.M., and in the summer of 1982 began holding Bible Studies on Sundays and Wednesdays in their home, under the authority from the "mother" church, Grace Baptist Church of Tacloban City.

In 1982 Missionaries Leslie and B-Etta Funk relocated from Tacloban City, Leyte to Paranaque, Metro Manila for better medical facilities.

Under the authority of Grace Baptist Church in Tacloban City they began holding Bible Studies on Sundays and Wednesdays in their home. In October 1982, they rented a small storefront in Lopez Village and on October 24, they held their first Sunday service, and named the Mission: Berean Baptist Mission.
​
Due to further health related issues, the Funks left for the States in November 1983.

Paterno Tan and Martin Ayon were given the responsibility of watching over the Mission work until Missionaries Bill and Dorothy Merritt arrived in January 1984. Rev. Merritt assumed the pastorate until September 1984, at which time the mission work was turned over to Missionaries Mike and Sandie Reap.

On December 1, 1985, Berean Baptist Mission was organized into Berean Baptist Church with forty-six (46) charter members. Rev. Howard Wynn, the pastor of Grace Baptist Church of Tacloban City (the "mother" church), preached the Charge during the organizational service.
​
Berean Baptist Church relocated to Sucat Road on July 1, 1986. The Church was registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission on March 25, 1991 under the name of Berean Bible Baptist Church of Parañaque, Incorporated.
​
In April 1992, the Lord led the Church to purchase property at #6 First St., Area I, United Parañaque Subdivision 5, Parañaque City, which is still the church’s present location.
